Summer Ties

This week my cousin Caitlin wanted me to teach her how to make my baby ties. She came over and spent the day with me and Jack! We had a blast making the trek to Joann's to pick out fabric and then cutting, sewing, and ironing for hours. We made 9 ties (18 if you reverse them) and I think they turned out great. Oh, and yes I made my poor baby model the ties I made. It is so much easier trying to get Jack to smile for pictures when someone is helping me... Thanks Nana for your photography skills!

Somehow I only managed to get one picture of all 9... here it is.

We made this one out of vintage fabric I had left over from some curtains I made...seriously I think this fabric came from the 1960's.

Don't tell him, but I would do ANYTHING for this little munchkin. I LOVE his grin.

I had to include this one of him making this crazy face...

Caught on Camera

The easiest time for us to catch videos of Jack is when he is sitting in his high chair (otherwise he is pretty wiggly). Here are a few recent favorites...

Here he is playing peek-a-boo

This is when he tried his first cheerio. Too funny!

Encinitas 5K

We LOVE Encinitas. We feel so lucky to be here for the summer! This morning Trent and his brothers and dad ran the annual Encinitas 5K. Trent's awesome mom watched Jack while Trent ran and I was able to go to the annual San Elijo Hills community garage sales with all of the lovely ladies in my family (over 150 garage sales in the same neighborhood). It was a win-win situation for everyone. Trent was able to run which he loves and I scored some sweet deals. The deal of the day was a brand-new (tags-still-on) Theory dress for $1 (it retailed for $375).

Poor Man's Tub

On Jack's 8 month Birthday we let him play in Nana's sink. He absolutely LOVED it because in the bathtub he lays on his back and can only really splash with his feet, in the sink he was able to go crazy splashing with his hands... we had quite the mess to clean up. He felt so cool!

He was being so funny with this cup! He was trying so hard to drink out of it but mostly it turned into a chew-toy.

I love this little smirk, and he was being modest with the cup!

(Don't worry, we scrubbed the whole sink area down first.)

Flash Back

I have been going through the pictures on my computer and I found some funny ones that I took the week before I had Jackson.

It seems like forever ago, but really it was not so long ago, when we attended the Utah County Fair. Yes, we are just that cool. It was seriously fun, even though I was extremely pregnant.

Have I ever mentioned that I am amazing at fair games? Anything that has to do with throwing small objects stands no chance against me, I'm just special I guess.

I owned Trent and his friend Ryan at the game

3 of the 4 ping-pong balls were mine

Here are the fish we won
(Ryan gave them to a cute little kid that was watching us play)

P.S. I was HUGE!!!

Here is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it at the fair, it was so detailed!

Wagon Riding

Since we came back to Encinitas Jack has been able to spend lots of quality time with his Kiki and Pops (Trent's parents). Not only do they play with him non-stop, they have the coolest wagon ever! He has been on several rides and he loves it!!!

Here is Wade making Jack laugh
